About Me

I was born in Lower Hutt, New Zealand in 1981, and lived there with my parents until I was two and a half, when we moved back home. My two younger brothers and I grew up in the Cotswolds, and after I left school I had a year of travelling, making music and working in a music bookshop in Oxford. I then went to Liverpool, to do a music degree at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, and had a simply marvellous time!

After graduation I was offered a one-off singing job at a festival in Liverpool, bluffed my way through one of my most frightening and uplifting nights to date, and eventually secured a job with this band. That was back in 2003, and I was still touring around the world with them in December last year. That has to be one of the longest and most rewarding 'one-off' session jobs ever, and it may continue yet..

I have always been a writer as well as a musician at heart and I'm now exploring both.

I am writing my first fictional novel (woo hoo!) I also have an original album on the back-burner, and I'm working on coming up with a way to help others with performance anxiety.

Words, music, words, music. In me they are inextricably linked, and I hope that I will always create both, with zeal, passion and joy.
